Job Application Tracker

Job Application Tracker That Stays in Your Browser

Add each job you apply to, move it from Saved to Applied, Interview and Offer, and set a day to follow up. The list is kept in this browser on this device. Export it as CSV whenever you want a copy.

Runs in your browser. Nothing you type is sent anywhere.

Add a job

Location, salary, dates, notes and the posting text go in the edit panel: click a job in the list.

How it works

  1. Add a jobPaste the link to the posting, then type the job title and company. A new job starts as Saved. When you switch it to Applied, today's date goes into Date applied.
  2. Set a follow-up datePick the day you plan to check in with the employer. On that day the job shows Today, and after it Overdue, so an application that went quiet stays in sight.
  3. Keep a copyExport CSV gives you a file that opens in any spreadsheet app. Import CSV brings a list back, including one from your own spreadsheet: you match its columns once and the rows come in.

Already tracking jobs in a spreadsheet?

Save your sheet as CSV and import it here. The page asks which of your columns holds the title, company, status and dates, then adds the rows and skips jobs it has already seen. The export always uses the same columns: Job title, Company, Status, Job link, Location, Salary, Date saved, Date applied, Follow-up date, Notes and Job description. A blank template with these columns is on the guide page.

Save jobs from any job page with the extension

The browser extension puts a button in your toolbar. On a job posting, click it and the title, company and link are filled in for you to check and save. The extension also keeps its list in the browser and reads and writes the same CSV file, so you can move your jobs between it and this page.

Questions

Where is my job list stored?

In this browser on this device. Nothing is sent to us and we never get a copy. Clearing site data or closing a private window deletes the list, so export a CSV now and then.

Can I use it on my phone and my laptop?

Yes, but each browser keeps its own list, and they do not sync. To move it, export a CSV on one device and import it on the other. Safari may clear data for a site you have not opened in about a week, so on an iPhone keep an exported copy.

What happens if I import the same file twice?

Jobs whose link is already in your list are skipped, and so are jobs with the same title and company when there is no link. A normal import only adds new jobs. To start over from a file, choose Replace my list, and the page offers to export your current list first.
